Hellloooooooooo!!
Hope this finds everyone well. We have just arrived in Florianopolis, Brazil and it is RAINING.. so i am taking this time to write to my favourite people!
Well i have been a teeny bit slack with this but fear not, tis only because we have been in one place the past week! better for an overview i say, especially seeing as though it was a beach town, numerous updates might be tres boring.. ie today emily and i got up at midday, went to the beach, slept, had caprioskas, ate empanadas, and drunkily passed out. the end… not so interesting past day 1! Plus, it was sunny. enough said.
So Punta del diablo was GORGEOUS
Far far better than Punta del este, for numerous reasons:
1. More hammocks
2. less people
3. More empanadas
4. Less gold coast
5. We could afford to venture past the hostel
6. Caprinhas caprinhas caprinhas
7. Can anyone say beach bar?
and many more..

One Week Anniversary!
Posted by admin on January 22, 2010
Today is the one week anniversary of our hostel
opening. This past week has been crazy, but really fun, and from what I can tell, it has been an awesome experience for the guests. There are great views, fun specials, and a beautiful beach-front breakfast every morning. It’s going to be another fun Friday night in Punta Del Diablo and we’re celebrating with a Sangria special ($100 UY for a pitcher)…so fun! love ya,
Lindsay

Breathtaking Views

Now that Playa Suites has opened its doors, El Diablo Tranquilo can expect another source of movement and life, a source of friends and stories. After so much anticipation, everyone is so excited to finally dive in and each be a part of this exciting new branch of our community you can feel it. But, despite the overwhelming excitement and energy we all have, a view like this everyday can still stop us in our tracks. We hope you enjoy the view from the new terrace as much as we do. Cheers!

El Diablo Tranquilo Presents
The Teach A Man To Fish Initiative
Many faces come through our door each day, from all over the world. Most of them are fortunate enough to experience travel, work and play in a foreign land, and have every opportunity for success. If there is one thing we all learn from travel, however, is that for some, the obstacles are much greater. For that reason, we ask our guests to contribute to our newly formed “Teach a Man to Fish Initiative.” Their contributions go directly towards the creation of a small business to be run by a family who would otherwise not have the financial or knowledge capital to use their own drive and efforts to improve their quality of life. It’s our way of creating opportunity for success to someone with the work ethic and desire. As our guests move on to blaze new trails and explore the world, their contribution is a way to leave a positive mark on the lives of those less fortunate but equally as deserving of success and happiness.
As the “Teach a Man to Fish Initiative” develops, check back to see updates, follow our progress and contribute to our cause.
